PRESS: Siemens sends turbine documents to Gazprom
MOSCOW, Jul 25 (PRIME) -- Siemens has sent the export license on repairs, maintenance and transportation of a turbine for the Nord Stream gas pipeline issued by Canada to Gazprom, business daily Kommersant reported on Monday.
The paper said that Gazprom now has to change the basis of delivery from Montreal to the destination point to help Siemens bring the turbine, that has already missed the ferry that left Germany for Helsinki on June 23 because of problems with documentation, to Russia.
If the document exchange between the sides continue normally, Gazprom will be able to start the turbine return in a few days.
Gazprom said earlier that it had asked Siemens many times to send it the documents proving that Canada and the E.U. exempted the turbine from sanctions so that it could get back to Russia.
